Enjoying Summertime

Since I wrote last Melanie has turned 7 and then 8 months old, celebrated her first 4th of July, has been taking swimming lessons, is getting teeth, is a crawling pro (well more like doing the worm) and is just spending time soaking up the summer sun.

 Mj has been enjoying her summer swinging in her swing on the front porch and at the park, playing with her bubble machine and hanging out at the pool. We are having so much fun doing all kinds of fun things. We are heading to South Carolina in a couple weeks to watch Daddy's soccer team play in the national championship and we will be enjoying a lot of fun and sun there too.

Mj is becoming a great little swimmer. She has been taking swimming lessons and is a pro at kicking and even closes her eyes and mouth to go under water. We are so proud of our little fish!

Melanie took her first ride on Grandpa's boat and saw her first movie in the theatre. She did great for both, and we thought "BRAVE" would be a fitting choice since she is our little Scottish princess!

Melanie celebrated her first Independence Day as a little American girl too, she's got to embrace both sides right?? She loved the fireworks and even though it was outrageously HOT she enjoyed the parade and picnics too. Melanie also helped break a Guinness World Record at one of the celebrations by participating in "The most people wearing sunglasses in the dark". My little girl helped break a world record at 7 months old, how is that for a baby book entry?! Hahaha.

Sadly, summer is already halfway over :( but we plan on making the most of what is left of it. Plenty more fun to come, I'm sure! Also, Mj is looking forward to FINALLY meeting her Papa at the end of summer- he is coming for a visit in August! Enjoy your summer too!
